Born in Osceola, Arkansas, Jennifer was one of two children raised by a single mom. She started working at her uncle’s accounting office when she was 13 years old, working summers and tax seasons around her school schedule. She later worked as a grocery store cashier, telemarketer, and accounting clerk at Alltel Telephone company in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Jennifer attended nursing school at Mississippi County Community College (MCCC) in Blytheville, Arkansas, while working for her uncle’s accounting office. She graduated from MCCC with two associates degrees in 1996, one in nursing and another in general studies. After graduating nursing school, she worked for Baptist Memorial hospital and Methodist North hospital, both in Memphis, Tennessee. A deathbed promise to one of her patients started her path to law school. Jennifer saw the pain and worry of patients with debilitating diseases and the financial impact it had on them and their families. She had a goal to help them beyond the bedside.
Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Crichton College in Memphis, Tennessee in 2002. She attended night school while working weekends as an RN.
Jennifer attended the Nashville School of Law at night while working as an RN on days off and the weekends at HCA facilities around Nashville, Tennessee. She worked relentlessly and was able to graduate law school with no law school debt. She uses this same work ethic to tirelessly assist her clients.
She opened her practice in 2008 focusing solely on Social Security disability. Since that time, she has helped thousands get the Social Security disability benefits they deserve. She loves the challenge of complex medical cases that other attorneys often shy away from. She was even dubbed the “Dr. House” of the Social Security disability world by one of the Administrative Law Judges that frequently hears her cases.
